Under the guidance of the CP/EVC, UC Santa Cruz is seeking to support the well-being of the campus community through opportunities that could broaden access to educational programs, improve UCSC’s financial outlook, and advance the efficiency and effectiveness of campus processes.
As part of the CP/EVC’s strategic planning process, UC Santa Cruz has identified five priorities for exploration:
1. Student Success Task Force
The Student Success Initiative aims to increase financial support for undergraduate and graduate students while advancing access to the guidance and experiences that are fundamental to providing a holistic approach to education. The Student Success Task Force is helping to make this dream a reality.
2. Adding online degree programs
Expanding access to a broader audience by creating new online degree programs.
3. Growing summer session
Supporting student success and lessening the time to graduation by growing Summer Session.
4. Formalizing the campus budget process
Implementing a formalized campus budget structure to streamline processes.
5. Converting the academic calendar
Studying the possibility of converting to a semester-based academic calendar.
